Just checking. Don't worry too much, though, I think this one's just a normal chain letter. Like 98% sure I know the kid who started it. Fun hit of nostalgia, though.
And I guess a compliment, if I'm in your top eight?
That's him. I got it from him first and it's not only thematic, he was trying real hard to convince me it was definitely harmless even though he had no idea where it came from. Seriously, 98% it was all him and the other 2 is that maybe somebody else nudged him into it. We're okay.
And thanks.
Hey you wanna come see my new place? We can catch up a little.

Well, that's a relief. I was worried that this was another city thing.
Do you know who the someone else behind the other 2% is?
You're very welcome. :D
And yes, I would like that. I wouldn't be able to stay long because my collar will sound an alarm if I'm somewhere I'm not supposed to be for too long this month, but I can come over for a little bit.
Re: discussion of tracking and monitoring devices on collars, duplicity-typical dystopia stuff
Because you're not my Dominant, and your place isn't mine or Bones' place. I mean, I don't know for sure that it'll do that, I don't know how LIES defines "places people are not supposed to be" but it seems like "other Dominants' places" would be on the list. I could be wrong, though.
I think you're worrying about something that isn't gonna happen, man. Unless you were over for more than one or two nights when we're not signed, it isn't against the law to have somebody over.
Breakfast would be splendid. I do most of the cooking for Bones and I, so having something I didn't make for once would be nice.
[Temple's perfectly fine with doing most of the cooking for himself and his Dominant. He just appreciates having a little break from it once in a while.]
As weird and awkward as it feels to Drake having an entire house all to himself, he has to admit there are some really nice perks. The location, for one. He chose a place way out on the outskirts of the city, at the boundary of the forest and beach. It was cheap for the latter and is quiet for the former, the trees providing some cover and solitude and the view of the ocean out his window reminding him very much of home. His original home, that is.
Five years and maybe some change, since he last saw it. Keeping track of time on his first hop was difficult, but thinking about the fact he can never go back doesn't ache anymore. That was a different life. He was a different person.
And living here he can just open the kitchen door to the patio and let Sable run out and down the stairs towards the treeline first thing in the morning, take his coffee out and lean against the railing to keep an eye on her. If they wanted to go for a run along a trail or back towards the heart of the city they could, or their morning can just be peaceful.
Today he's gone for that, expecting that Temple might come by. Drake sent him a pin the day before and then gone back to unpacking, which is still a work in progress -- so are furnishings -- but since he's alone here for at least another month he isn't too concerned. Mostly, anyway.
A knock won't bring anyone to the front door from the inside, but it does get Sable's attention. Her ears perk up and she races around the side of the house to greet a familiar human, tail wagging as she skids to a stop in the grass. It's only another moment before Drake pitches forward to see around the corner at where she went, a grin spreading across his face.
"Over here," he calls to Temple, gesturing towards the steps up onto where he's standing. "You got up early, huh?"
Temple smiles at the dog when she greets him, pleased to see her again. It's a been a long time since the last time he saw either her or her owner - he doesn't know quite how it happened but he fell out of touch with Drake, right until that sex bomb chain email gave him an excuse to get back in touch with him. So, thank you, Gokudera?
"Yeah, I did," Temple replies, grinning at Drake. "You said 'morning' and 'breakfast,' so it kinda comes with the territory. And since Bones likes getting up pretty early, I've been trying to learn to be a morning person."

So, better safe than sorry, I guess?

My Dominant said he first got this from a kid named Gokudera and you mentioned a kid starting it, so…
And yeah, it's meant as a compliment.

Why would it go off for my place as somewhere you're not supposed to be?
